The Hamas information office revealed in a detailed report issued on Wednesday that the PA security apparatuses had committed 100 assaults on press and media personnel and institutions since Hamas won the legislative election in 2006.

In a copy received by the PIC, the report explained that the PA security apparatuses executed three journalists, kidnapped 33 others, carried out 26 assaults on media institutions and journalists" property and 22 physical attacks on journalists and media crews, opened fire at them nine times and threatened them seven times.

The report underlined that this repressive policy shows that the PA leadership and its unconstitutional government wants media only conveying what they wish in order to serve their narrow factional and personal interests.

The report called on legal and civil society institutions, and all concerned parties to disseminate the truth and defend freedom of opinion and expression against this fierce campaign.
