Sharnoubi Released
State security prosecution at the 5th district has bailed Abdul-Jaleel al-Sharnoubi, editor-in-chief of Ikhwanonline website by 1000; he went to the state security prosecution today noon.
He was accompanied by Hatem Zakaria, Secretary General of the Journalists’ Syndicate, Jamal Fahmi, member of the syndicate’s board, Sayed Abu-Zeid, syndicate’s lawyer, and journalist Manal Ajramah. Interrogations lasted for three hours led by Hesham Sukkar, Deputy Prosecutor General.
After the release of Sharnoubi from the prosecutor’s office, Sayed Abu-Zeid, syndicate’s lawyer, stressed the fabrication of the charges; and called for Sharnoubi’s immediate release, especially that law bans imprisoning members of the Journalists’ Syndicate.
Abdul-Jaleel al-Sharnoubi expressed his gratitude to all those supporting him, especially Journalists’ Syndicate members; Hatem Zakaria, Jamal Fahmi, Muhammad Abdul-Quddous, Jamal Abdul-Raheem, `Abeer Saadi, and others.
