A responsible source in Hamas said that there was no truth to what was reported on Friday by a Zionist website regarding the assassination of the closest aide of Hamas"s political chief Khaled Mishaal in Damascus. "Such fabricated reports that have no truth to them are part of a series lies and rumours propagated by the [Israeli] occupation authorities against the movement and its leaders in a Zionist bid to cause confusion within its ranks." Bebka file, a Zionist site specialising in such media stunts, claimed on Friday that it has an exclusive report that the closest aide of Khaled Mishaal was killed by a hit-and-run car in Damascus and that the Syrian authorities ordered a blackout on the incident.
