Hebrew sources: Mofaz gave orders to IOF to kill 70 Palestinians daily

Israeli transport minister Shaul Mofaz ordered his army when he was the war minister in summer 2005 to kill 70 Palestinians daily in the West Bank during the Aqsa intifada, Hebrew press reported.

The Ha”aretz newspaper said that Mofaz ordered his bodyguard, who was writing minutes of the meeting with army generals, to stop writing and then told the officers that he wanted 10 Palestinians killed daily in each of the seven military districts in the West Bank.

It said that if Mofaz was not investigated at home then he would be wanted in numerous countries on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity, and added that a person suspected of such “serious charges” should be investigated before being elected to the premiership.

Mofaz is competing with foreign minister Tzipi Livni over premiership of the Hebrew state after its current premier Ehud Olmert decided to step down following involvement in corruption charges.
