Four Muslim Brothers Arrested From Asharqia Governorate

Four Muslim Brothers Arrested From Asharqia Governorate

State Security Investigations arrested on Tuesday at dawn four Muslim Brothers from Faqus village in the Nile Delta governorate of Asharqia after they attempted to reopen the partition of women at Annour mosque after its closure by the SSI and preventing prayer there.

The four detainees are known for extensive charity activities including orphanages and fundraising campaigns for the poor.

Their homes were stormed on the fourth day of the holy month of Ramadan, without taking into account the sanctity of this holy month and homes.

The campaign resulted in the arrest of Dr. Assayed Mansour (Pediatrician), Mohamed Mansour (Math teacher), Abdun Nasser Abdul Hamid (Math teacher), Ashraf Samir (Analyses laboratory owner).

Dr. Farid Ismail (MB MP for Faqus) expressed his deep disappointment at what happened, and described it as “scandalous and irresponsible.” He said the escalation has no justification at all, and that this policy is a failure.

Ismail confirmed that these repressive actions will not deter the Muslim Brotherhood from continuing charitable activities.
