Al-Jazeera School: Banning Students From Entering, Continuous Siege

Egyptian Security forces continue their siege on Al-Jazeera Islamic School in Al Ajami district in Alexandria for the sixth day consecutively.

Security forces banned students from entering the school today, despite the decision of the Administrative Judiciary Court in Alexandria on Thursday September 18 to stop the decision of closing the school, and accepting  case No. 15553  by Talaat Fahmy, chairman of the school board, against the Minister of Education, the Governor of Alexandria as well as the Director Department of Al Amiriyah.

Talaat Fahmy stressed that the management of the school informed the governorate with the court decision, but it did not respond to it, and the security continued besieging the school and banning students who went in the morning and set up the morning queue on the street in front of the school, pointing out that the parents who attended with the students tried to negotiate with the security, but the security insisted on banning them from entering.

“There is a hidden hand that deals with the file of the school, but we cannot deal with it or know its targets,” Fahmy said, emphasizing that the parents are devoted to the school and they wish that the school will have its right as soon as possible to guarantee the future of the students.

The security forces had raided Al-Jazeera Private School for kindergartens, primary and preparatory stages in Alexandria Matrouh road by 19.30 km, on Tuesday September 16 just before Iftar, and closed it with chains putting a sign on the door that calls parents to go to the education management to refer the papers of their children to another school.

“Al Jazeera” School has been constructed first time in Abu Tallaat region in
Alexandria, and was demolished by bulldozers with the charge of being built illegally, despite the fact that all Al Ajami regions were built illegally without licenses, and the security arrested the headmaster.
