Egypt Police Block Gaza Convoy, Arrest Activists

A leader in Kefaya movement Yahia Al Qazaz proclaimed to ikhwanweb that the prevention of the public committee convoy for ending Gaza siege is upsetting and makes you feel as if you are in Gaza. He added that they are blockaded as Gaza and even more because in Gaza they are free to move, but blockaded people inside Cairo are not. He said that if this occurs to their brothers and sisters in Gaza by the Zionist foe, so it occurs to us by its disciple. He stated that this action raises Egyptians.

Qazaz said that his prevention, accompanied by some political forces, aims to prevent national forces from participation. He described the scene as if they are on isolated islands. He added that if they were tracking a group of thieves, they would not blockade them like this. He said that this shows the end of Mubarak regime era. He stated that outside Cairo is blockaded as well as Gisr al Sweis and Misr al Ismailyya roads.

State Security Forces arrested at least five participants, among them the freedoms committee decision maker at Press Syndicate Mohamed Abdul Quddus. They got people down from the bus. The place was converted to a military barracks, where moving was forbidden. The underground station of Gamal Abdul Nasser was closed alleging a break down.
