North Cairo Court put off the trial of an action brought by Officer Samir Magdi Salamah (officer at Ain Shams police station) against Al Jazeerah Satellite Channel chairman, chairman of the Egyptian organization for Human Rights (EHRO); in their capacities, chairman of Sawtul Ummah newspaper, and Seham Mamdouh Mohamed calling for EGP25mln compensation.

The defendants" defense called for adding the CD which was broadcast at the channel to the case documents.

This action was basically brought after the broadcast of this CD on Al Jazeerah Channel and its coverage in Sawtul Ummah newspaper. The CD indicates the torture and sexual assault against Seham Mamdouh Mohamed depending on a report issued by the EHRO.

The officer brought defamation action against them after the broadcast of this CD during Waraa El Shams (Behind the Sun) TV Show indicating his torture and imprisonment of Seham without any legal reason.

The plaintiff"s defense filed documents proving the authenticity of the procedures the officer pursued in Seham"s case.

In his action, the officer claimed that the incident was refused by the prosecution because of not being correct.

The officer"s defense called on the court to introduce the nature and mission of the EHRO.
