In a press conference, Dr. Hasan Abu She`esha (Brotherhood candidate for the complementary elections in Kafr El Sheikh) declared his withdrawal from this elections due to blatant violations, explicit forgery, and security bias.

Brotherhood candidate indicated that he decided to withdraw because his representatives were denied access to the ballot centers despite authorizations from the Real Estate and Publicity Department. Abu Sheqsha was also prevented from reaching Meit Ulwan ballot center because of closing Khalifa El Mamoun Street.

Security Director went himself to the center to pull out the only representative who managed to enter the ballot center and tear the vote the representative made in favor of the Brotherhood candidate.

Brotherhood candidate criticized the security collaboration against the Muslim Brotherhood and democracy through denying the access of the electors themselves to the ballot centers.

He told Ikhwanweb that security forces arrested his representative Mohamed Khattab and terrified the voters by using thugs same like what officer Ahmad El Sakran; head of the City"s Investigations, escorted by several detectives did before the Industrial School Complex.

"We pulled back from such an elections because of forgery; we will not engage in any elections without real guarantees," added Abu She`esha expressing his disappointment at the violations that take place in Egypt. He also thanked his advocates who endured the regime"s atrocities and remained before the ballot centers for longer times to ensure their right of elections.

In the awake of the parliamentary elections in 2005 that witnessed unprecedented triumph for the Brotherhood candidates who won more than fifths of the PA seats despite violations and forgery, the regime seemed to adopt severer procedures to curb their presence in the political arena. This was crystal clear during the local elections, Shura council elections, and the complementary parliamentary elections during which electors were denied access to the ballot centers as well as arresting candidates and electors as well.
