Egyptian Administrative Court overturned Al-Azhar University decisions of dismissing 32 students and denying them access to exams.

The Administrative Court, headed by counselor Mohamed Ibrahim Solaiman Al Nagar, overturned Al-Azhar University decisions of dismissing 32 students and denying them access to exams; the court adjourned its ruling on decisions of dismissing ten students from Al-Azhar University and three others from Ain Shams University to April, 15, 2007.

It is worth noting that Al-Azhar University administration issued decisions of dismissing 23 students ( 11 in the Faculty of Sharia and Law, 9 in the Faculty of Education, 2 in the Faculty of Theology, and one in the Faculty of Commerce) for periods ranging between dismissing for a month and a full term and canceling their exams .

In a related context, The detentions of 9 other students in the Faculty of Medicine prevented them from doing the exam of the general surgery subject; so, the university administration decided to make the students do the exam as a second attempt, considering them absent; but the students failed a lawsuit to oblige the university to hold their exams as a first attempt, and the Administrative Court issued a ruling obliging the university to do so.

Asked about his feelings after the court ruling, Mostafa Mohamed Mohamed Abdul Maqsoud, a fifth year student in the Faculty of Sharia and Law said:" I am a wronged person who is given his right; this ruling restored rehabilitation to us in front of our colleagues and professors, and it boosted our stance while speaking with the university administration.
