Egyptian police forces arrested 45 Muslim Brotherhood protestors before they reached the headquarters of the Doctors Syndicate where they were going to attend a pro-Gaza demonstration called for by the syndicate on Tuesday.

Police forces including hundreds of central security forces as well as state security investigators cordoned Kasr ElEini Street and the streets adjacent and leading to the Syndicate headquarters.

Muslim Brotherhood members are usually rounded up by Egyptian police on charges of supporting the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, although all the events held in Egypt in favor of the Palestinian cause are not devoted to supporting a specific Palestinian faction and are normally attended by national forces from across the political spectrum.

While Hamas is designated by western countries as a "terrorist" organization, Arab and Muslim peoples and national powers sympathize with its rhetoric and endorse it as a national liberation movement that confronts the Zionist expansionist and racist project.

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has ideological and historical ties with Hamas, supports legitimate resistance against Israeli occupation, but it has repeatedly denied any organizational links with the Palestinian resistance movement.
