In a clear violation of detainee rights, the Ministry of Interior announced yesterday, January 5, that it had issued a decision ordering the detainment of 309 MB leaders and members on Friday, January 2.

The announcement came after Abdel-Mon"em Abdel-Maqsud, the MB"s lawyer, filed a report against the Ministry of Interior for its detainment of MB leaders and members in small cells exposing their health to danger requesting the Attorney General to release these detainees in view of their bad health and detainment conditions and prevention of family visits as well as their access to food and medicine.

It is worthy mentioning that among the detainees is Sayyed Nezeily, Giza MB Administrative Head.

It is said that the arrests followed the MB Chair"s invitation for all Egyptians to demonstrate last Friday against the continuance of the Israeli offensive on Gaza.
