Egyptian government to protect Egyptian workers from the repercussions of the global financial crisis, said an Egyptian unionist MP in statements to Ikhwanweb.

Unionist leader MP Saber Abul Fattouh, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood parliamentary bloc, demanded Egyptian government to protect Egyptian workers from the repercussions of the global financial crisis. He demanded workers be given suitable payments in return for their working conditions.

In a related context, Abul Fattouh lashed out at chairman of the Steel Company in Helwan in which he accused the Muslim Brotherhood of causing trouble. "Only the bankrupt carry out such actions", said the MP adding that workers have been since 2007 carrying out strikes and sit-ins calling for addressing their personal demands because the government neglects workers and their demands.

He also accused those accusing the Muslim Brotherhood of seeking media fame and propaganda.

Abul Fattouh also pointed out that the Muslim Brotherhood backs any demands that workers call for. "The Muslim Brotherhood MPs have tabled dozens of interpellations and written questions calling for improving living conditions of workers in Egypt " he said.

It is worth noting that chairman of the Iron and Steel Company in Helwan has accused the Muslim Brotherhood and Tagammu" Party of stirring chaos and causing trouble among workers after reports of pay cuts due to decreasing output by 50%.
