Hamas deputy representative in Syria Ali Baraka stated that a delegation from the Movement will leave for Cairo on Tuesday to hold bilateral meetings with Fatah representatives only days before holding the comprehensive inter-Palestinian dialog in order to eliminate all obstacles that may adversely affect the national reconciliation process.

In an exclusive statement to the PIC, Baraka revealed that a comprehensive meeting between heads of Palestinian factions will be held on Thursday after the bilateral meetings between Hamas and Fatah in order to form five committees on the PLO, the government, elections, the rebuilding of the security apparatuses, and the Palestinian reconciliation.

He pointed out that when these committees finish their duties and reach agreements on all the five files, a package agreement will be signed in a ceremony attended by seven Arab countries in Cairo.

Regarding the issue of political detention, the Hamas leader underlined that the Fatah delegation promised in the last meeting to discuss the release of all political prisoners with ex-PA chief Mahmoud Abbas who ordered the formation of a committee to deal with this issue.

Baraka noted that his Movement handed Egypt a list of the political prisoners" names, which it followed up with the PA security apparatuses in the West Bank to ensure the release of all detainees, adding that there are promises to get all those prisoners released before the end of the Palestinian dialog.

In the same context, Palestinian informed sources reported that there are still 21 political prisoners inside jails of the preventive security and the intelligence affiliated with Fatah in Tulkarem district.

The sources added that the PA security apparatuses in Tulkarem on Monday summoned four Palestinians affiliated with Hamas and kidnapped a fifth.
