The Spokesman of MB Parliamentary Bloc Dr. Hamdi Hassan on behalf of the bloc has described the Egyptian security forces assault on the British lifeline convoy as an embarrassing and insulting action for the Egyptian government.

Dr. Hassan expressed the deep concern of the Parliamentary Bloc for the blatant attacks on members of the convoy which was welcomed everywhere by the masses until it reached Egypt where people were prevented from welcoming it as the NDP exclusively was at the reception of the lifeline convoy

He condemned the way the government dealt with the convoy since its arrival to the Egyptian territories, adding that Egyptian government is used to deal with opposition in this way but it was never expected to deal like that with an international convoy of a political weight like the lifeline convoy.

Its worth noting the assaults by the Egyptian security forces on members of the lifeline convoy who demonstrated in Al-Arish city against the assaults and the insistence of the Egyptian government on the passage of half the convoy through the Israeli controlled Awja crossing.
