Dr. Ahmed Abu Baraka (Human rights activist and member of the MB Parliamentary bloc) has described the decision of the Israeli military General-Prosecutor’s to close the file of crimes and massacres committed against civilians in Gaza by Zionist soldiers as a new crime to be added to the main crime of the Israeli occupation.

Abu Baraka stated, in televised statment, that the Israeli occupying army along with its leaders have violated Geneva Conventions which protects civilians when unarmed and not in a state of war, pointing out that Israeli soldiers have admitted committing those crimes against unarmed civilians in civilian installations.

Abu Baraka pointed out to the fact that Geneva Conventions require the evacuation of civilians from the battlefield saying “if Israeli soldiers had some sense of humanity, then investigations should have been conducted with soldiers and leadership of the state if it was to respect its entity as a state”.

He emphasised that the closure of this file stresses the need for a specialised International Criminal Court to be held to prosecute war crimes, as the Israeli system proved its failure to pursuit those criminals, especially after having a number of crime evidences like admitting committing those crimes according to the instructions of their supervisors.

“Once the Attorney-General issues such a decision, of closing this file, then this is fully confirming their failure to pursuit criminals, however this decision is even more encouraging for them to commit more crimes against humanity”.

On the allegations of the Israeli jurisdiction on the lack of evidence proving that soldiers have committed war crimes, Dr. Ahmad Abu Baraka commented: “they will not delude the world’s conscious and those concerned of Arabs, Muslims, human rights organizations and all commissions of inquiry and review, which has reviewed such crimes, since all evidence deny the unavailability of evidence, in addition to the testimonies, documents of international organisations as well as testimonies from the European parliament”.
