Egyptian security forces arrested a number of Kifaya Movement activists in a sit-in that the movement called for Sunday evening to protest the constitutional amendments and the referendum scheduled to be held on Monday morning.

All Egyptian political opposition powers called on Egyptians to boycott the referendum.

The detainees are:

- Hajja Zeinab, Kifaya activist
-Mohamed Awwad, Kifaya activist
-Mohamed Gamal-blogger of www.gemyhood.com
-Omar Al Hadi, Kifay activist
-Malek Mostafa, the blogger of MaLcoLM X ( http:// malek -x.net/ ) and editor of Kifaya Movement web site
-Karim Al Shaer, blogger and Kifaya activist
-Ahmed Al Daroubi, Kifaya activist
-Amr Abdullah, Al-Masri Al-Yom cameraman (the memory card of his camera was taken and was released)
-Mohamed Abdul Qader
- Ali Al-Tayyeb
- Omar Cesar, blogger of Asad; some girls were detained and released later.

There is a tight security blockade on all outlets and side roads of Tahrir Square in central Cairo; the demonstration was divided into two groups; one in front of the Press Syndicate and the other in Talaat Harb street in front of Al-Shorouq bookstore.
