The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) has learnt that the Syrian Authorities have released Maryam Kallis (36 years) and Zahour Ahmed (28 years), both of whom are British nationals, on Sunday 7/6/2009. The Syrian Authorities have arrested them almost three months ago without issuing any accusations. They were imprisoned in solitary from the outside world and subjected to numerous pressures.

SHRC calls upon the Syrian Authorities to put an end to repressive and arbitrary arrests, which do not have any legal basis, and which are usually practiced based on suspicions, false reports and inaccurate news.
