Mubarak Al Dowailah, a former Kuwaiti MP, revealed that the General Assembly of the Islamic Constitutional Movement “Hadas”, also known as the Muslim Brotherhood in Kuwait, will hold a board meeting in the first week of August to elect a new leader of the movement succeeding Dr. Badr Al-Nashi.

Al-Duwailah indicated if there is no quorum, another meeting will be held in the holy month of Ramadan, adding that there are currently three leaders leading “Hadas”. He wishes that members of the movement’s Secretariat will be more successful in electing the new office which will boost the movement”s progress in the up-coming period.

Dr. Badr Al Nashi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Movement, had submitted his resignation immediately after the announcement of the results of the recent Kuwaiti parliamentary elections. The political bureau also submitted their resignation “So as to assess the up-coming period by a neutral committee” especially, after the number of the movement’s lawmakers in the Kuwaiti National Assembly decreased to one after they were originally three indicating a sharp reduction where they were formerly six in the parliament which was formed in the2006 elections.
