UNCTAD: Gaza suffered $4b in economic losses in the Israeli aggression

"Economic cost of the massive Israeli military campaign in Gaza is estimated at US$4 billion – almost three times of the size of its economy," this is how the UNCTAD, United Nations Conference on Trade & Development, opened its report on conditions in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

The report noted that the losses were due to the complete halt of economic activity during the Israeli attack that lasted from 27/12/2008 till 18/1/2009.

The organization, which follows up economic development in the Palestinian territories for the past 25 years, said that the current economic conditions in Gaza were the worst since its occupation in 1967.
