Sixteen members were arrested including a highly ranked and notable member of the movement namely:
State security in Sharqia launched raids on 16 members of the Muslim Brotherhood early Saturday morning. The raid comes as a result to demonstrations and protests organized by the movement. More than 120 rallies including more than 20 000 protestors, were organized by the movement in Sharqia to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinians and to voice anger at the barbaric measures in which the Israeli Palestinian Occupation have tried to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque damaging its sanctity and injuring Palestinians standing to defend the mosque and all that it stands for during the last week.

Three other members had their houses raided by State security but were not present on their arrival. They include Eng Gamal Hassan, Mohamed Hedeywa, and Alsheik Mohamed Khatab.
