A group of national independent figures met on Friday with Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya and discussed with him every avenue towards the achievement of national reconciliation in addition to different aspects of the daily life in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Yasser Al-Wadiya, the representative of independent parties to the national dialog, said that the efforts made by independent figures are aimed to maintain the reconciliation process and reorient the compass in the right direction in order to safeguard the Palestinian constants and the higher national  interests.

Dr. Wadiya noted that independent national figures conducted a series of meetings in Gaza, the West Bank and outside Palestine with Palestinian factions and Arab parties sponsoring the efforts of reconciliation in an attempt to salvage the current rift in the Palestinian arena.
