Urgent request for information on the reconstruction of Sinai by Muslim Brotherhood MP al-Missiri.

A request for information aimed at the Prime Minister and ministers of, Agriculture, Irrigation, Local Development, Interior, Defence and Housing regarding the non-reconstruction and the member of the Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentary bloc, Yehia Al-Missiri, submitted development of Sinai as a matter of national interest.

The national project of the reconstruction of Sinai, for which the water of the Nile was transferred to al-Salam Canal, was terminated for unknown reasons. This was interpreted by some as intervention and opposition by Israel. They believed this may encourage the  establishing of communities in the area bringing masses  which in turn would be the first line of defence in case Israel decided to attack Sinai as it had  in fact invaded it twice before in 1965 and 1967.
