British judge issues arrest warrant against Livni for war crimes

LONDON, — News reports on Monday evening confirmed that a warrant was issued in London for the arrest of Tzipi Livni on charges of war crimes committed against Gaza people while she was in office as Israel’s foreign minister.

It was reported that Livni, who was scheduled visit to London, disappeared or left for Israel after the court verdict was issued, but the British police considered the arrest decision in effect and declared their intention to carry out the warrant.

Pro-Palestinian activists protested in London on Sunday against Livni’s visit outside the hotel where she was supposed to participate in a conference for the Jewish National Fund.

The British official authorities had already saved former Israeli premier Ehud Barak, during his visit to London, from a similar arrest order issued against him at the pretext that he had diplomatic immunity.
