A senior level delegation of the Hamas Movement led by its top leader Khaled Mishaal conferred with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa in Doha on Sunday.

Ezzet Al-Resheq, member of Hamas's political bureau, said in a statement to the PIC that the delegates discussed with Sheikh Hamad challenges to the Palestine cause in light of the failure of the peace process and the continuation of the Israeli aggression, settlement drive and siege.

He added that the inter-Palestinian reconciliation was discussed along with obstacles facing it in light of Egypt's insistence on not taking Hamas's remarks into consideration.

For his part, the Qatari Emir said that he understood the position of Hamas, asserting the importance of expediting an end to the siege on Gaza and ending the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The delegation is on a tour of Arab and Islamic countries prior to the Arab summit in a bid to rally Arab and international stand against the siege and to accelerate the Strip's reconstruction in addition to drawing a Palestinian strategy for national salvation.
