Suez’ Muslim Brotherhood members receive 30 days detention renewal.

Chancellor Mohamed Imam President of the Criminal Court in Suez issued an extended detention order to 33 members of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement. Despite an excellent defense the order was submitted and detainees found themselves sentenced to a further 30 day detention.

The detainees’ families fiercely objected to the unjust decision stressing that the renewal was unfair asserting that other detainees who were not from the movement were acquitted.

Defense lawyer for the group Bahaa Salama claimed that it is without doubt that the continued and unjust detention is completely and politically motivated emphasizing that it is in defiance to the constitution which stipulates that evidence must be submitted for the continued detention of prisoners.

Among the defense team were distinguished lawyers who presented their defense to the highest level are Abdul Monem Abdul Maqsoud, Mohamed Towson, Sayed Gad Allah and Naser Alhafy.
