President of the European parliament Jerzy Buzek on Tuesday said that the electricity crisis in besieged Gaza Strip should be solved the soonest.

Buzek, who was speaking during a meeting organized by the European campaign to lift the siege on Gaza to brief him on the conditions in the Strip, said that all parties concerned should sit together and put a final end to this crisis.

European parliamentarians, who recently visited Gaza, had said that the European Union should play a bigger role in Gaza and not to be content with extending humanitarian assistance.
