MB in Jordan initiate rally near Jordanian River

The Islamist MB movement  in Jordan plans to hold a rally in the Jordan Valley on Friday in remonstration measures in Jerusalem and other parts of the Palestinian territories, according to Islamist officials.

The rally, which aims to protest against plans to incorporate the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Bilal Ben Rabah Mosque among Israeli heritage sites, will be held at Abu Obeidah Mosque in Deir Allah, a few kilometres from the banks of the Jordan River.

“Invitations were extended to people from across the Kingdom to participate, including leaders of opposition parties, professional association activists and prominent independent figures,” said Kathem Ayesh, member of the Muslim Brotherhood shura council and event organiser.

All Jordanians will stand together in this important turn in the history of Palestine, the Arab and Muslim worlds,” Ayesh told journalists noting that the Islamist movement plans a series of events in the near future to warn against “Israeli designs” on holy sites as well as its settlement expansion.

“We urge the Palestinian leadership to end all forms of contact with Israel until it has withdrawn its plans in Hebron and stopped building settlements in Jerusalem and other parts of Palestine,” he added
