Local sources reported that the Israeli troops prevented the young men from entering the holy Mosque,  which led to clashes between them.

Israeli police forces were also seen intensively deployed all over Jerusalem in the aftermath of the clashes.

The sources added that since the early morning hours on Monday the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) set up more mobile checkpoints on the roads leading to the city of Jerusalem and barred dozens of buses carrying Palestinians from the 1948 occupied lands from reaching the Mosque.

In a separate incident, the Israeli intelligence apparatus kidnapped on Sunday and Monday three Palestinian citizens in the cities of Nablus and Qalqiliya and another one from Fara refugee camp, south of Tubas city, upon his return from a pilgrimage trip to Saudi Arabia through the Jordanian crossing of Karama.

Local sources said that the Israeli intelligence kidnapped a citizen called Mu’ad Al-Ghoul, 22, from Fara refugee camp on Sunday after detaining him for long hours in a waiting lobby at the crossing. Al-Ghoul family was not told about the destination their son was taken to.

In retaliation to the daily violations committed by Israeli settlers and troops in Jerusalem and the West Bank, several Israeli cars boarded by settlers and military patrols were attacked by molotov cocktails and explosive devices in different West Bank areas.

An Israeli car boarded by settlers traveling on the main road near the village of Aboud in Ramallah was attacked with molotov cocktails without any reported casualties.

A similar attack reportedly took place near the settlement of Misgav in Al- Jaleel city inside the 1948 occupied lands.

An Israeli military force was also attacked with explosive devices by unknown individuals near Al-Aroub refugee camp, north of Al-Khalil city.

The Hebrew radio said that the explosives did not cause any casualties among the troops, pointing that military reinforcements were swiftly deployed in the scene.

In another context, the Palestinian prisoner society in Al-Khalil reported that the IOF troops had kidnapped, since the beginning of 2010, 350 Palestinians including 80 children detained during February.

In a report, the society said that the rate of Palestinian detainees from Al-Khalil is the highest compared to other provinces in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. It added that this marked escalation of kidnapping Palestinians coincided with the Israeli decision to annex the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil to the list of what is called the Jewish heritage.

The society affirmed in its report that the Israeli troops during its raids on Palestinian homes in Al-Khalil physically assaulted the inhabitants, smashed their belongings and furniture and forced many of them out of their homes and verbally abused them.

The society appealed to international human rights organizations to pay attention to Al-Khalil people who are exposed to an arbitrary arrest campaign.
