Describing the call as a step in the right direction, Bahar said that he hoped Britain would play a more balanced political role toward the Palestine cause and to adopt the cause of the oppressed Palestinian people.

He asked London to act on ending the siege on Gaza Strip that has entered its fourth consecutive year.

A British parliamentary report asked the government to reconsider arms sales to Israel after it was proven that Israel used British made weapons in its attack on Gaza last year in violation of the condition that those weapons should not be used in the occupied Palestinian lands.
