Arrest of Ikhwanonline  reporter

An arrest warrant was issued by the Interior Ministry for the arrest of Hamdy Taha Ahmed, a reporter for the Muslim Brotherhood‘s official website Ikhwanonline. He was transferred to an unknown destination in Aswan.

 

In a related issue Security Services in Aswan released detainees on Monday April 5 and transferred each of them to the respective police stations for release.

 

The High Court of Appeal overruled the appeal filed by the General Prosecutor to keep them in custody and decided on the release of the four citizens. They were arrested on March 27, after their houses were ransacked. They were formerly issued detention orders for 15 days and leveled with the well-known host of accusations which the MB detainees have become accustomed to.
