Engineers call for enhancement of trade unions activities and independence

“Engineers against Sequestration” submitted a draft of the co-ordination committee of trade Unions activists which will be submitted next Tuesday

 

The paper included five points on improving the performance of trade unions and the preventing of security involvement which aims at disabling the work of unions, teaching unions clubs and student unions.

 

The paper which Ikhwanweb obtained a copy of illustrates that there are five aspects to work on including freedom for trade unions, independence of trade unions resources, combating normalization with the Israeli entity, improving the income of trade unionists and preserving the national role of trade unions.

 

The paper stressed on the importance of protecting trade unions from the risks of sequestration and the annulment of the arbitrary arrests of honorable trade unionists. Moreover the paper listed the call for the abolishing of law No. 100 of 1993, and stressed on the importance of the independence of the amendment of any law or resolution issued by the General Assembly of any trade union from any party, group or trend.

 

It called for independence from the executive authority concerning the financial resources of trade unions. Highlighting issues such as bonuses to journalists, improved income for officials, set minimum level of income, provision of more social services including medical care, housing services, training courses for officials, improved pensions and the guarantee of its continuity and the improving of work conditions and relations at work.

 

The movement stressed on the significance of defending the national trade unions interests and the periodic presidency for each trade union.
