Ahrar: Israel transfers leading Palestinian prisoners from jails and sections

Al-Ahrar center of prisoners’ studies and human rights strongly denounced the Israeli prisons authority (IPA) for transferring representatives of Palestinian prisoners from one jail or section into another especially in Nafha prison.
Ahrar said in a statement on Saturday that the IPA transferred leading Palestinian prisoners from other jails into Al-Shammour section in Nafha prison and from this section into other sections in the prison.
Fouad Al-Khafsh, the director of the center, said that this section is used to isolate a group of Palestinian prisoners who are classified as "dangerous" in order to stop them from influencing the attitudes of other detainees and incite them against punitive measures taken by the Nafha prison administration.
Khafsh added that the prisoners inside this section are exposed to harsher incarceration conditions compared to the detainees in other sections as well as to constant harassment and maltreatment.
He affirmed that detainees including senior Hamas leaders like head of the higher committee of Hamas prisoners Yahya Al-Sinwar and two other members of the committee were transferred to Al-Shammour section in Nafha prison and from there into other sections in the same prison
The center director noted that Israel wants to isolate the representatives of Palestinian prisoners and transfer them into other prisons and sections in order to create a state of instability inside prisons and deprive them of any chance to escalate protest steps against prison administrations.
In another context, Egyptian lawmaker and member of the parliamentary committee on defense and national security Isam Mukhtar called on the Egyptian government to immediately release Palestinian prisoners from its jails, especially since they did not violate the law.
In a terse statement, Mukhtar said that the maltreatment of Palestinians is an affront to the history of Egypt and its image, and called on the Egyptian authorities to defend the Palestinian people and their national cause instead of arresting them without any guilt.
