Palestinian cancer patient dies after repeated failure to travel abroad

GAZA, — A 45-year-old Palestinian man was proclaimed dead in Gaza Strip on Wednesday after two years of developing cancer, medical sources said.

Sources in the European hospital in southern Gaza said that Sa’id Al-Amur from Amur suburb east of Khan Younis had tried to travel abroad for treatment on several occasions but could not due to closure of crossings.

The Israeli siege on Gaza over the past four years has claimed the lives of 370 Palestinian patients who could not receive proper treatment in the Strip due to its poor medical facilities and could not travel abroad due to closure of all Gaza crossings on the part of Israel and Egypt.
