University of Korea cancels granting Peres honorary doctorates
One of the South Korea universities decided to cancel granting the Israeli President Shimon Peres a honorary doctorates. The Korean authorities also decided to reduce Peres’ visit today, because of the massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces against the "fleet of freedom."

One of the South Korea universities decided to cancel granting the Israeli President Shimon Peres a honorary doctorates. The Korean authorities also decided to reduce Peres’ visit today, because of the massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces against the "fleet of freedom."

South Korea - according to the Korean news agency, "Yonhap" - attempted to fully cancel the visit of Peres in protest of the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the peace activists on board of the freedom fleet in international waters, but many interventions placed pressure on the Korean administration to agree to the visit, but routinely, and to reduce its agenda, in reference to mounting international criticism raging against the Israeli occupation because of the recent attack on a fleet of humanitarian aid carrying food and medicine to Gaza under siege for nearly four years. The agency quoted a source at the Israeli Embassy at Seoul saying that awarding an honorary doctorate to the Israeli president Shimon Peres at the University of Korea has been canceled.

Dozens of South Koreans conducted demos in Seoul against the president Shimon Peres, and described him as a “killer” during his wandering in the Korean capital.

Peres arrived in South Korea on an official visit, in addition to Korean President, Shimon wasn’t greeted by the Korean public as was decided in advance because of the massacre and he was greeted by a Korean. Peres was scheduled to visit Vietnam tomorrow, but the government in Hanoi, requested the postponement for an indefinite period to show protest of the freed fleet’s.

It is noteworthy that dozens of meetings and international symposia and conferences with the participation of Israel have been canceled.
