GAZA, Thousands of Palestinian children on Thursday afternoon participated in the kite festival organised by the UN Refugee and Works Agency (UNRWA) at the Waha in the northern Gaza Strip by flying 7202 kites.

UNRWA director in Gaza John Ging said that the children of Gaza are gifted and they can prove to the world that they are the best and that their creative potential needs to be given a real chance.

Ging added that the children of Gaza, like other children around the world, are full of life despite their abnormal living conditions.

The Commissioner-General of UNRWA, Philippo Grandi, for his part, said that the importance about this event was not to set a world record as much as attract attention to the ability of Gaza children to take any opportunity given to them to rise above their conditions and to pursue their dreams like any other children around the world.
