For a second consecutive time unidentified vandals attacked an art project erected in honor of Marwa El-Sherbini, an Egyptian woman who had come to be known in the media as the 'headscarf martyr' brutally  murdered in a German court room in 2009.

The attack took place by a 28-year-old assailant, who was sentenced to life in prison, attacked her in court out of revenge after she pressed charges against him for insulting and labeling her "terrorist", "Islamist" and "whore" during a quarrel over a playground swing.

Eighteen knife-shaped columns and placards explaining the project were assembled in an open-air show symbolizing the number of stabs the victim received was knocked over.

Christian Demuth chairman for the Citizen.Courage claimed in a statement that he believed the vandalism was politically motivated. He stressed that although they will not restore the destroyed project they will continue their work.

A police spokeswoman ascertained that the German Federal Bureau opened an investigation into the property damage by the perpetrators but said “There are indications that while it may not have been an organized act that it may have had a radical right-wing background”.
