The Muslim Brotherhood has announced names of candidates fielded in Egypt's upcoming parliamentary elections. During press conferences the MB in the  constituencies of Gharbeya and Qalyubiya have named 10 candidates while Kafr el Sheik has announced 8 names including one female.

The MB chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie has announced the group will contest 30% of the seats available despite other opposition calling for boycotting the election.

Since its announcement security forces have arrested 10 MB members and ransacked a number of Islamist bookstores searching both houses of the detainees and the bookstores confiscating personal belongings, papers and computers.

It is expected there will be more arrests as the elections approach.
