The number of victims of the Alexandria church bombing has climbed to 23.  According to Church sources the number of victims of the church blasts in Alexandria has reached 23 after patient Sabry Fawzy Wissa, died in hospital while undergoing treatment.

Egypt’s FM Ahmed Abu Al-Gheit confirmed that the Egyptian government will continue to battle terrorism and will work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators of the bombing to justice.

In turn the President’s son Gamal Mubarak and the ruling Party's Policies Committee Chairman said that the attack on the Saints Church in Alexandria will not undermine national unity.  He added that Egyptians have always stood united against attempts to cause discord within their society.

Widespread protests however continue across Egypt and the number of clashes and skirmishes rise and tensions flare with increasing reports of thousands of protesters demonstrating in front of Coptic Churches. Furthermore roads have been blocked following the burning and damaging of vehicles demonstrating that the state of emergency renewed in May 2010 failed to live up to its alleged purpose of combating terrorism and rather focused on the country’s political opposition the Muslim Brotherhood in which it felt threatened by.
