Forensic Report Confirms Driver Was Killed by Police Officer

Councillor Amr Qandil, Prosecutor General of north Cairo prosecutions, decided to refer the police officer who is accused of killing the driver Aboud, to the criminal court. The forensic report proved that the police officer attacked Aboud and beat him to death, unlike the story that was spread that the driver threw himself into Al-Ismailia Canal to escape from the police for driving in the opposite direction.

Mohamed El-Daba, head of north Cairo General Prosecution, received on Friday the final forensic report which confirmed that the police officer attacked Aboud and beat him with the end of his gun which caused Aboud to fall unconscious and then threw him into the canal causing Aboud to drown, contrary to the first report which stated that he died due to hitting his head on the floor of the canal.

The forensic report coincided with the testimony of the driver’s assistant and the uncle of the driver and they confirmed the results of the forensic report.
The incident happened when traffic officers and drivers saw Aboud driving in the opposite direction and they hastened to catch him but he left the car and jumped into Al-Ismailia Canal to escape but they chased him and started throwing stones at him causing him serious head injuries that caused him to drown. As soon as the family of the victim heard the news they gathered in the Aboud area, causing riots and attacking police officers and drivers.

Leaders of Cairo Security headed to the place, including Major General Ismail El-Shaer, head of Cairo security, with eight security vehicles and security officers that surrounded the area but the angry people attacked the police officers and clashed with them, using stones as weapons before security officers surrounded and controlled them.
