A recent approval by Jordan’s government allowing women to work at night clubs has been slammed by the Muslim Brotherhood offshoot the Islamic Action Front.

The MB’s political arm confirmed it was seeking the resignation of Labour Minister Samir Murad, who made the decision. They called for a public apology to the Jordanian people for the inappropriate decision which they described as an encroachment on Islamic teachings and the nation's values and traditions.

In a statement on its website, the Party maintained that they rejected the decision, which was offensive to all Jordanians. Previously, working at night clubs was limited to non-Jordanian women.

The IAF called on the religious authorities to issue decrees regarding the decision which allegedly came in response to foreign pressures.
