Abducted Man’s Mother Fears Son Dead

Fear and panic gripped hundreds of families of detainees who were taken to the Alexandria headquarters of State Security Intelligence 18 days ago under the pretext of conducting investigations into the suicide bombing of the Qeddesinne Church. The mother of missing Ahmed Abdel-Azim told Ikhwanweb that she fears her son may have died due to torture, similar to the victim Sayed Bilal, adding that she has searched everywhere.

She added that the state security officer, Alaa Zidane, raided their house at dawn on January 1, after the Alexandria church bombing, searched a house belonging to the family and arrested her son who financially supports her.

In 2006 he was arrested by security forces and his father died soon after and he was released in 2008," she said, adding that her son shaved his beard upon her request for fear of being arrested again.

She added: "I went to the SSI headquarters at the Security Directorate of Alexandria asking about my son and they replied that they would release him immediately and I fear that he may have died due to torture, because he was neither subjected to a formal of investigation, nor has he been presented to the prosecutor, and to date there has been no news of her son’s whereabouts."
