Media spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood Dr. Essam El-Erian stated that the national dialogue held last week was not well planned stating he received an invitation only hours before the start of the dialogue.

During his speech at the meeting Al-Arian stressed the sessions were not constructive, without a specific timetable, noting that its purpose is to pave the way for a new constitution. He expressed his concern that the youths, were not represented.

El-Arian asserted that the group refuses to make reconciliation with symbols of Mubarak's ousted regime, saying "We are talking about a system, not citizens as no one can exclude them. The system must no longer be present and we demand the probing into why symbols of the deposed regime remain with state institutions under their control”.

"We must lay a platform for the transition," he said, adding that the Muslim Brotherhood presented a draft on their vision for the reconstruction of a new Egypt in the upcoming period.

He welcomed the invitations promoted by some in order to listen to people's complaints and proposals as well as to hold dialogue with people in small towns, villages, and cities to solve their problems, calling for a specific organized mechanism.

He also suggested the activation of electronic voting in the upcoming elections, citing India as a typical example on the efficiency of an electronic voting system, where despite a voter population of over 450 million people, the final results in the recent general elections were successfully announced within 4 hours of the end of the ballot.
