Novelist Dr. Alaa Al-Aswany pointed out that parliamentary elections should be strongly supported by all Egyptians since the parliament is the only legitimate institution capable of forming an elected government and managing the country’s affairs.

He added during a conference organised by Egypt Revolutionaries' Alliance Tuesday at the headquarters of Ghad Party, “The parliament is the only safe and sound solution to a smooth and peaceful transition of power to civilians”.

Focus should be not on who leads in the elections. “We should pay attention more to helping the success of the parliamentary elections rather than focusing on who will make it to parliament regardless of those being from the Muslim Brotherhood, Salafist, Liberalists or Leftists”, he said.
