Dr. Rashad al-Bayoumi, Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), denounced the rush to end legal proceedings against ousted President Hosni Mubarak and his associates, which could negatively affect the administration of justice.

In a statement to IkhwanWeb, Dr. Bayoumi said that: "What is happening is totally unacceptable. Mubarak was a symbol of corruption and oppression and evil that prevailed in Egypt for 30 years, and was taking the country to complete collapse and bankruptcy."

He added: "This is totally absurd. We certainly asked for a fair, but disciplined, trial that brings justice to the families of martyrs and safeguards their rights."

He continued: "Any departure or deviation from justice will cause a very dangerous reaction from the people."

A number of defense lawyers of the January 25 Revolution martyrs mentioned that there is a sudden haste in court proceedings, and that the Court’s management of the deposed Mubarak’s session today revealed its intention to terminate the trial before the 25th of January 2012.

Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Justice Ahmed Refaat, decided to postpone till Tuesday the trial of ousted President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, and fugitive businessman Hussein Salem and former Interior Minister, Habib el-Adli, and 6 of his top aides.

The court also decided to begin hearing the prosecution's case for the next three consecutive days, namely: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
