MB Shura Council Authorizes Guidance Bureau Consultation With FJP in Transition Management
Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, Secretary-General of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), confirmed that MB Shura Council has unanimously approved authorization for MB Guidance Bureau to consult directly with the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) in order to take all appropriate actions in the transition period, with regard to interactions between the People’s Assembly and the government, underlining the need to take responsibility and translate the people's trust in the MB and the FJP into real deeds.

Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, Secretary-General of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), confirmed that MB Shura Council has unanimously approved authorization for MB Guidance Bureau to consult directly with the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) in order to take all appropriate actions in the transition period, with regard to interactions between the People’s Assembly and the government, underlining the need to take responsibility and translate the people's trust in the MB and the FJP into real deeds.


In a press statement, Dr. Hussein stated that the meeting held Saturday (14 January 2012) with the presence of 108 Shura members (i.e. 87%) also decided to elect Dr. Mohamed Taha Wahdan as a member of the MB Guidance Bureau, to replace Saad Al-Husseini, due to the latter’s election as a member of the FJP’s Executive Office.

A Press Statement on the Meeting of the MB’s Shura Council

The General Shura Council of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) convened its second regular meeting (the fifth since the revolution, so far) in its fourth session (2010 - 2014) on Saturday, 14 January 2012, with the presence of 108 Shura members (i.e. 87%), and decided the following:

1 - The Shura Council agreed unanimously to authorize MB Guidance Bureau to consult directly with the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) in order to take all appropriate actions in the transition period, with regard to interactions between the People’s Assembly and the government, underlining the need to take responsibility and translate the people's trust in the MB and the FJP into real deeds.

2 - Dr. Mohamed Taha Wahdan has been elected as a member of the MB Guidance Bureau, to replace Saad Al-Husseini, due to the latter’s election as a member of the FJP’s Executive Office.
