Rolling off today, Wednesday, 22 February 2012, is the last round of the final phase of the Egyptian Shura Council (SC) elections. In this round, FJP candidates are contesting 23 of a total 26 seats. The party lays great importance on the reactivation of the role of the SC, as the second chamber of Parliament and an essential player in the selection of the Constituent Assembly tasked with writing Egypt’s new constitution.

Hence, the FJP calls upon the noble Egyptian people to conclude their participation in the legislative elections in the same spirit with which they started in the first phase of the Egyptian People's Assembly elections, in November 2011, to complete their celebration of a successful first experience of democracy after the twenty-fifth of January revolution.
