Al-Shater Resigns Brotherhood Post to Focus Efforts on Forthcoming Presidential Elections
The Brotherhood’s second in command, Al-Shater, resigns his prominent position to run for Egypt’s top job in the May presidential elections.

Dr. Mohamed Badie, Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood, has announced the resignation of Khairat Al-Shater from the membership of the organization’s Guidance Bureau and also from his position as Deputy Chairman.

Al-Shater handed his resignation to the Brotherhood’s chief after the organizations’ General Shura Council had nominated him for the upcoming presidential elections.
