FJP Delegation Begins First Visit to the United States

 A delegation from the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) began its first official visit to the United States on Monday April 2 for one week. During the visit, the delegation will hold meetings with major news media and think tanks in New York City, before heading to Washington DC to attend a one day conference on Islamist movements in power at the Carnegie Endowment for Peace on April 5. The delegation will also participate in other public events at Georgetown University, US Chamber of Commerce as well as meeting with the Egyptian community and US officials.

The delegation includes Dr. AbdulMawgoud Dardery, FJP’s Member of Parliament serving on Foreign Relations Committee, Dr. Hussein ElKazzaz, prominent businessman and senior advisor for the FJP economic team, Khaled Al-Qazzaz, Foreign Relations Coordinator at the FJP, and Sondos Asem, member of FJP’s Foreign Relations Committee and senior editor at Ikhwanweb.

The purpose of the visit is to engage the American people on issues of mutual concern in international relations,reassure business community of the prospects of investments and economic growth in democratic Egypt, and boost American tourism to Egypt. The delegation will discuss domestic issues of concern to Egyptian community in the US, and various ways to utilize their experience and resources to help develop and rebuild Egypt.
