A delegation of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), including members of the Executive Office and members of the People's Assembly as well as members of the party’s Cairo and Giza secretariats, has joined the national delegation travelling to Saudi Arabia to calm tensions and repair relations following the dispute that erupted in the last few days between Cairo and Riyadh.

The delegation includes Dr. Farid Ismail, member of the FJP’s Executive Office, and MPs Osama Suleiman, Adel Hamid, Nihad Al-Qassim and Saber Abdel Sadiq, in addition to Dr. Mohamed Abdul-Latif, Assistant Secretary of the FJP in Cairo; Hussein Abdel-Kader, Secretary of political communications in Cairo; Ahmed Subaie, Secretary of Information in Cairo; and Dr. Sharif Sho’aib, Secretary of Administrative Affairs in Cairo; as well as Adel Afifi, Walid Haddad, Mohamed Zidan, Mohamed Shimi, and Ibrahim Nassef, members of the FJP secretariat in Giza.

For his part, Dr. Farid Ismail said that the national delegation aims to bolster Egyptian-Saudi relations, and that the visit has two levels: official and popular, but generally seeks to deepen the Egyptian-Saudi ties as strategic relationships of benefit to the whole Arab and Islamic nation.

The delegation also includes a number of political, intellectual and cultural figures, such as Sheikh Mohamed Hassan; Dr. Sayed Badawi, Wafd Party Chairman; and Ashraf Abdel Ghafour, Actors' Syndicate Chairman; as well as a number of Nour Party MPs, and also a number of artists, media figures, writers and journalists.
